Eco-Transformer FAQ's

An Eco-transformer is a type of transformer designed with a focus on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. It differs from traditional transformers by incorporating advanced technologies and materials like ester fluid to minimize energy losses and reduce environmental impact.

Eco-transformers utilize innovative design elements and materials to reduce energy losses, improve efficiency, and minimize environmental impact. These features may include advanced insulation materials, efficient cooling systems, and optimized winding designs.

Eco-transformers reduce energy losses during power transmission and distribution, leading to overall energy savings. By using resources more efficiently and minimizing environmental impact, they contribute to sustainability efforts and help mitigate climate change.

Eco-transformers are beneficial in various industries and applications where energy efficiency and environmental sustainability are priorities. They are commonly used Power & Thermal Stations, Grid Electricity System Operators, Substations, Industrial Plants, EPC, Renewable Power Plants (Solar, Wind Farms and Hydro).

The use of Eco-transformers can result in significant cost savings over time due to reduced energy consumption and lower maintenance requirements. Additionally, some regions may offer incentives or rebates for implementing energy-efficient equipment, further enhancing cost savings.

Eco-transformers undergo rigorous testing and quality control measures to ensure reliability, performance, and longevity. Advanced construction techniques, along with adherence to international standards and certifications, help minimize the risk of failures and ensure optimal performance throughout the transformer's lifecycle.

Mineral oil transformers are made from non-renewable resources and typically have limited biodegradability, with only 10-15% of the oil being biodegradable. In contrast, ester liquid transformers, derived from chemicals or plant seed oils, are highly biodegradable, with over 80% of the oil being readily biodegradable.

Mineral oil transformers have lower fire and flash points, with a fire point of 170°C and a flash point of 160°C. On the other hand, ester liquid transformers exhibit higher fire and flash points, with fire points up to 350°C and flash points up to 315°C. Additionally, ester liquid transformers typically have higher thermal class ratings, with some reaching up to 120°C, which results in less insulation paper aging compared to mineral oil transformers with a thermal class rating of 105°C.
